What Kids Mode is

Kids Mode is a locked-down version of PhonicSky built for your child. When it's on, your child sees only what they need to learn: a friendly greeting, the lesson they're picking up from, today's goal, the four levels, and their stars and badges. Everything else your account, billing, learner settings, and the rest of the platform stays out of reach.

The idea is simple: you, the parent, manage the platform; your child only ever touches the part meant for them. A 4-digit PIN, which only you can set or change, is what keeps that boundary in place.

Setting up your learner and PIN

You create the PIN when you add your child as a learner.

On your home dashboard, open the left menu and click My Learners.
Click Add Learner.
Fill in your child's details in the form.
Set a 4-digit PIN in the field provided.
Save. Your learner is now ready, and the PIN is active.

PIN security rules

The PIN is exactly 4 digits (0–9).
After 5 wrong attempts, the PIN locks for 15 minutes.
Only you, the parent, can reset the PIN.

Turning on Kids Mode and handing over the device

On your home dashboard, click Enter Kids Mode in the left menu.
Your child's profile card appears. Click Enter Kids Mode on the card.
A prompt asks for the 4-digit PIN. Enter it and click Enter Kids Mode.

Your child's screen now loads their greeting, their next lesson, today's goal, the levels, and their rewards. You can safely hand over the device.

How a session ends

A Kids Mode session ends in one of two ways:

You exit manually. Tap the profile icon in the top right and choose Exit.
Screen time runs out. A session automatically ends once 30 minutes of screen time is reached.

Either way, the session closes and returns to the parent side of PhonicSky.

Resetting a forgotten PIN

Only you can reset the PIN, and you do it from your own dashboard not from the Kids Mode screen.

On your home dashboard, open the left menu and click My Learners.
On the learner dashboard, look to the top-right and click Reset PIN.
Enter a new 4-digit PIN, confirm it, and save.

The new PIN takes effect immediately.
