Cookie Policy

Last updated: 23 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how PhonicSky uses cookies and similar browser storage. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What we use

We use what is needed to run the service securely, plus website analytics cookies only if you agree to them. We do not use advertising cookies.

  • Authentication session - keeps you signed in to your account (set by our auth provider, Supabase).
  • Kid-mode session (kid_mode_token) - a secure, http-only cookie that runs the protected kid-mode experience after PIN entry.
  • Cookie preference - remembers your choice on the cookie banner so we don’t ask again.
  • Website preferences - this website stores your theme choice (light/dark/system) and your analytics cookie choice in your browser’s local storage.

2. Analytics

On this website

This website (phonicsky.com) uses Google Analytics 4 to measure visits - which pages are read, how people arrive, and roughly where they are - so we can improve our content. Google Analytics only sets its cookies (_ga and _ga_<ID>, kept for up to 2 years) after you click Accept on the cookie banner. Until then, or if you decline, it sends only cookieless signals that don’t identify your browser. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. Google processes this data on our behalf; see how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

You can change your choice at any time: .

In the PhonicSky app

We use PostHog for privacy-respecting, aggregate product analytics - to understand which features are used and where people get stuck, so we can improve PhonicSky. It is configured to be privacy-first: it stores its data in your browser’s local storage (not cookies), does not record sessions, and we never send it your child’s name, PIN, or other personal details - events are anonymous and aggregate. The app does not load advertising or cross-site tracking trackers.

3. Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings. Note that blocking the authentication and kid-mode cookies will prevent you from signing in or using kid mode, as these are strictly necessary for the service to function.
